It’s legendary on Scilly – Sabine’s scrumptious strudel – and from tomorrow (19th March), everyone is welcome to come and fill their boots as the Kaffeehaus opens its doors for the 2016 season!
And not just for strudel – all the old favourites are back! Fantastic German ham and cheese platters, homemade soup and, for those with a sweeter tooth, chocolate torte and delicious homemade cakes… all washed down with tasty German wines, plus a selection of delicious “proper” coffee, teas, beers and local ciders.
Once again this season, Sabine is joined by Hebe – together they will be here to bake, prepare and look after guests.
“We can’t wait to get started,” says Sabine. “The weather has been fantastic this week – spring really is in the air – and there are lots of walkers on the island already – and more on the way for Easter next week. Today, we’ve been having a great time getting the Kaffeehaus ready, stocking our fridges and stores, and baking some goodies in preparation for tomorrow. We can’t wait to see everyone and welcome them all up at High Lanes.”
